Before penicillin was discovered and became popular, Australian Sandalwood was prescribed and found in pharmacies and hospitals. It was also widely used in venereal diseases.

Both Sandalwood have demonstrated proven effectiveness against some fungi, microbes and viruses (human papilloma, herpes simplex I and II) and anti-inflammatory. Very effective against Acne and acne scars. In addition to being a calmer for the nervous and emotional system, both Sandalwood are highly effective in relieving nervous system disorders.

Australian Sandalwood comes from ethical and sustainable cultivation. The extraction of Sandalwood essential oil and Australian Sandalwood seed oil is done in collaboration with native Australians, from trees over 30 years old and harvested in native reserves, who maintain strict control over sustainable logging. of sandalwood trees.

The essential oil is extracted by distillation from the heartwood of the tree. Although the olfactory profile is very similar to Mysore, it has softer, lighter and more delicate nuances.

In the table in the photo files you can see a Chemical comparison between Mysore Sandalwood and Australian Sandalwood.

The difference between the two is due to the amounts of Alpha and Beta Santalol, Mysore being the one that has the most amount, however the rest of the compounds are the same in both sandalwoods. Both being equally effective. There are those who prefer the sweeter and deeper aroma of the Mysore and others prefer the more balsamic and woody aroma of the Australian.
