Family Name: Curcubitaceae.
Common Name: Tsamma Melon, Wildcrafted Melon, Desert Melon.
INCI: Citrullus lanatus var. citroides Seeds Oil.
Extraction Method: Cold Pressed.
Parts Used: Seeds.
Odor: Beautiful woody nuances, soft, balsamic, creamy and a cocoa undertone.
Appearance: Pale yellow.
Country of Origin: United States.
Odor: Mild, herbaceous and pleasant.

Comedogenic Index: 0-1.
Skin Type: Oily and combination skin, as it regulates sebum production. Irritated skin o acne prone.
Composition: High in Linoleic Acid, Oleic Acid. Low in Alpha-Linolenic Acid, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid and Palmitoleic Acid.

Originally from the Kalahari Desert in Namibia, it is related to watermelon. It has smaller fruits and a less sweet taste than cultivated watermelon. The seeds are roasted and eaten or a very nutritious oil is extracted for skin care.

Benefit for the skin:

-High content of Vitamin E: Powerful antioxidant.
-Phytosterols: Helps maintain the skin's lipid barrier.
-Minerals: Rich in zinc and magnesium.
-Omega 6
-Light and non-greasy hydration: its high concentration of linoleic acid helps keep the skin hydrated without clogging pores.
-Soothing and regenerative: Its content of vitamin E, essential fatty acids helps regenerate the skin and reduce inflammation.
-Improves skin elasticity, ideal for oily and mature skin with signs of aging.

Uses:

-As a facial oil: Apply a few drops directly to clean skin or mix with cream.
-Serums and creams: It can be incorporated into anti-aging serums or light moisturizing creams.
-Homemade masks: Mix with green clays or kaolin, for a purifying and moisturizing mask.
-Massages: deep hydration without a greasy sensation.

Comodogenic index:

-Comedogenic level 0: it is non-comedogenic and does not cause pore clogging.
-Comedogenic level 1: there is a small (very low) possibility that the ingredient is comedogenic and may clog pores.
-Comedogenic level 2: in most cases, it will not clog pores. The possibility that it may clog pores is moderate to low.
-Comedogenic level 3: they have a medium chance of clogging pores, depending especially on the skin type.
-Comedogenic level 4: the chance of clogging pores, regardless of the skin type, is quite high.
-Comedogenic level 5: they tend, in almost all cases, to clog skin pores. In fact, very few people tolerate the oils found here.
