Costus has multiple medicinal properties and is used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat various ailments.
This costus is an absolute extracted with organic grain alcohol and macerated for almost a year and with a slow evaporation of the alcohol, leaving an absolute with a slightly viscous consistency and a smell with a very strong intensity.
It is used in natural perfumery as a fixative, and as a botanical musk, giving a dimension to a composition that few aromas usually achieve. In small doses it gives an elegant, refined touch, with soft woods, quality and balanced notes, in overdose it can dominate the composition and cannot be appreciated in all its splendor.
Its aroma recalls the butteriness of Indian sandalwood, soft and at the same time overwhelming, a background of musk with a light touch of Turkish black fig jam, reminiscent of Castoreum.
