Vetiver grows wild in tropical areas. Depending on the area, vetiver varies its aroma to little. The best known are Haitian Vetiver, Java Vetiver, Indian Vetiver, Indonesian Vetiver and Green Vetiver. although there are others that are less known such as Vetiver from Brazil or Reunion Island.

Vetiver is widely used as a fixative in perfumery, especially in men's perfumes. But it has many medicinal properties, in addition to being a regulator of body temperature, used in febrile processes. Used on the skin it gives shine and elasticity. Ideal oil to dilute in massage oils, as it helps with joint pain. Used in aromatherapy it balances the nervous system, for which it helps with stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia and mental fatigue.
Vetiver oil is an essential oil that has numerous health properties. Its main goodness is anti-inflammatory agents. It is also a good antiseptic, sedative and calming.

Widely used in traditional Chinese medicine, its main use lies in its ability to regenerate and replenish Yin, that is, it replenishes tissues, nourishes the blood, provides root and stabilizes the nervous system. It is a cooling and temperature-neutralizing agent, very suitable for treating menopause hot flashes since vetiver has an effect similar to that of estrogens.
