Mentha citrata Essential Oil – also called Bergamot Mint or Yerba Buena– is a fresh, sweet, and slightly fruity essential oil distilled from the leaves of Mentha citrata, a natural hybrid of watermint and spearmint. Unlike peppermint, it is rich in linalyl acetate and linalool, making its aroma closer to lavender and bergamot with a gentle minty undertone.

This unique balance of citrus, floral, and mint facets makes it a versatile ingredient in perfumery, aromatherapy, and natural cosmetics.

Traditionally used for its calming, uplifting, and skin-soothing properties, Mentha citrata oil blends beautifully with lavender, citrus oils, geranium, and clary sage. Ideal for creating relaxing blends, fresh colognes, and balancing skincare formulations.

Despite being called Bergamot, it is not a citrus fruit or a bergamot. It does not belong to the Rutaceae family like citrus fruits, but to the Lamiaceae family, related to Lavender.
