Sweet fennel is a Mediterranean plant, where it grows wild. The uses of fennel date back to the time of Charlemagne, where it was used as an aromatic herb, as a vegetable, spice and medicinal.
The essential oil contains trans-anethole which gives the aroma of anise, estragole which gives the aroma of licorice, fenchone which has an aroma similar to camphor. All these aromas combined have Fennel Sweet.
The essential oil is obtained from the seed, and has various uses in aromatherapy and skin care.
Properties:
-Moisturizing, reducing and an effective skin cleanser. Ideal for mature and dry skin.
-One of the most valuable oils to treat cellulite.
-Toning: Counteracts sagging, soothes inflamed tissues.
-Stimulates the production of estrogens.
-Anti-aging: Delays aging.
-Indigestion: A tea made from fennel seeds relieves indigestion, flatulence, abdominal distension and cramps. Stimulates digestion.
-Anti-spasmodic: Relieves intestinal spasms and menstrual cramps.
-Diuretic: Helps with fluid retention, promoting the elimination of fluids naturally.
-Headaches: Relieves headaches caused by stress and emotional tension.
-Calming: Its sweet and aniseed aroma calms and stimulates mint.
