It is native to subtropical regions of South America from southern Brazil through Paraguay to northern Argentina.
Maracuja seeds are small and dark in color. They contain a significant amount of essential oils and nutrients that are beneficial for the skin. The oil from the seeds is obtained by cold pressing or CO2 extraction, it is a light oil, quickly absorbed and with a soft and pleasant aroma.
