Spanish Verbena is an aromatic shrub of the Lamiaceae family, of the Thymus genus, native to the southern part of Spain, where it blooms in winter. It is a scarce and difficult to find oil, since the plants grow in a small region of Spain, and its collection is strictly regulated by the Spanish government.

It has been used since ancient times for medicinal, religious and magical purposes for its antienuretic, antispasmodic, antiseptic, aromatherapeutic, carminative, disinfectant, and deodorant properties. diaphoretic, digestive, expectorant, sedative, general tonic and vermifuge.

In ancient times, essential oil was used in preparations for embalming.

In aromatherapy, Spanish Verbena regulates states of anxiety and stress, regulates energy, stimulates vitality, strength and courage. Helps balance memory and access forgotten memories.

Although it is from the Thymus genus, the essential oil has a different chemotype than thyme and is closer to Verbena, which is why it is known as Spanish Verbena. It has about 3% Verbenone.
