Eucalyptus, belonging to the Myrtaceae family, is a very large genus that includes about 700 species, almost all of which are native to Australia and a small number are native to other parts of the world. Although Eucalyptus are capable of re-sprouting after a fire, they are a highly flammable species. Eucalyptus globulus also contains tannins, flavonoids, and resin.
It can be very strong for sensitive skin if used pure, use with caution and dilute in a carrier oil.
