It is a perennial shrub native to the eastern Mediterranean. Traditionally, its leaves have been prized for their medicinal properties, particularly in traditional remedies for anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and digestive aids.

Greek Sage essential oil contains high levels of carotenoids, which make it ideal for skin care.

Greek Sage essential oil has cholinesterase inhibitory effects.

In studies carried out by the University of Thessaly in Greece, it was shown that Salvia triloba has strong significant antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and E. Coli.

Sage oil induces sleep and relaxation. You should not take sedative medications and mix them with Salvias essential oils as it can cause respiratory problems.
