Lantana Camara is a plant from the Verbenas family and is considered highly invasive. It produces multi-colored flowers and is used as an ornamental plant, due to its easy care and because it is hardly affected by pests.

Lantana is a plant widely used in traditional medicine for the treatment of numerous ailments.

It contains around 0.22% essential oil in its leaves, stems and flowers.

Lantana's main components include Germacrene-D and E-caryophyllene, which gives it powerful antifungal properties, being very effective against the phytopathogenic fungus Corynespora casicola, which affects more than 500 species of plants and destroys multiple crops around the world. It has also been found on human skin, causing ulcers and blisters.

In studies conducted with Lantana Camara distilled in the Ivory Coast, it was found to have potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, insecticidal, cytotoxic, antifungal and anthelmintic activities.
The chemical composition of Lantana oil varies depending on the area of cultivation, time of year and parts of the plant that have been distilled.
