Oleoresin derived from the Myroxylon Balsamum tree, widely used as a fixative in perfumery, with a vanilla undertone. It has many medicinal properties. Peru balsam is an oleoresin, from the Fabaceae family, it is native to Central America. It is antiseptic and anti-inflammatory and, therefore, it is especially indicated to treat eczema and wounds. It is used as a natural moisturizer and cleanser.
In aromatherapy, it is used to promote sleep and to relieve nervousness and stress.
Contraindications: Several sensitizing compounds are present in the Balsam of Peru resin that are not generally found in the essential oil.
General Safety Information: Even a small amount is very strong and must be diluted before applying or ingesting. Use small amounts of the essential oil if you have never used it before. Pregnant women and those who are breastfeeding should not use essential oil. Do not take any oils internally and do not apply undiluted essential oils, onto the skin without advanced essential oil knowledge or consultation from a qualified aromatherapy practitioner. If you are epileptic, have liver damage, have cancer, or have any other medical problem, use oils only under the proper guidance of a qualified aromatherapy practitioner. Use extreme caution when using oils with children.
