Abies Balsamea, an evergreen native to the northern United States, grows well in cold climates. Native Americans used it to treat various foods.

It has relaxing and toning properties. Helps with the healing of wounds, burns and hemorrhoids. It is antiseptic and expectorant.

In studies carried out to determine its antiseptic properties, it was discovered that it has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus.

It improves the structural activity of insecticides and creates a strong synergy, making them more effective between 16 and 24 times. It works very well with natural pyrethrins. Abies Balsamea in conjunction with natural pyrethrins is very effective in controlling mosquitoes, especially Aedes Aegypti.

Abies Balsamea is also very effective in controlling ticks that are in a dormant or hibernating period, especially the black-legged tick, Ixodes Scapularis, which carries the bacteria that causes Lyme disease. It is a natural acaric that does not affect other beneficial insects, since it has low environmental persistence, and acts favorably in cold environments. It was discovered that the needles of Balsamea abies, stored in places with low temperatures, where there were ticks in a dormant state, in a matter of weeks, these had perished, while with the essential oil extracted from the needles and applied in environments with ticks in a dormant state hibernation, these were eliminated in a matter of a few days.
