Spikenard Essential Oil is a species in the Valerianaceae family, which grows in the Himalayas, China, India and Tibet. The green Jatamansi is native to Asia, and Nepal is one of the areas where it is most cultivated. 

For Jatamansi to be green it needs to be grown at high altitudes and its roots be subjected to natural drying in the sun and subsequent maturation that takes years, this ensures that its soothing properties are accentuated and the maturation process achieves that when the roots are distilled a dark green oil comes out.

Since Jatamansi is a type of valerian, with multiple calming and relaxing properties. 

It is one of the most calming oils that exist. Very suitable for making natural incense, as it helps generate calm and relieve highly charged environments. In natural perfumery it is a fixing base note, especially for men's perfumes with oriental tones. It also has antioxidant.
