Buriti oil, extracted from the deep orange-red pulp of the Mauritia flexuosa fruit, is one of the most treasured botanical oils of the Amazon rainforest. Often referred to as the “tree of life” by indigenous communities, the buriti palm plays a vital role in both the ecology of the Amazon basin and the traditions of local populations. Its oil has gained international recognition for its extraordinary nutritional composition, its abundance of carotenoids, and its unique capacity to protect and restore skin and hair exposed to the elements. In the modern cosmetic industry, buriti oil is considered a rare, exotic, and luxurious ingredient that brings both functional and sensory benefits to formulations.
