Fig has been an integral part of the diet of various peoples of the Mediterranean basin and Western Asia. It is known as one of the first trees planted by humans.
In studies conducted the results showed that Ficus carica seed oil is a rich source of linolenic acid (C18:3), linoleic acid (C18:2) and oleic acid (C18:1). In addition, it contains 314.61 ± 51.53 mg/100 g of gamma tocopherol.
It lightens dark spots and stimulates collagen production. It has antimicrobial properties, so it can soothe the skin and heal acne-prone skin as well.
It contains:
-Phytosterols, which help keep the skin hydrated, soft and supple.
-Polyphenols, which are compounds with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
-Essential fatty acids: linoleic acid and oleic acid.
-Vitamin E: known for its antioxidant properties. It helps prevent premature skin aging and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.
-Hydrates and nourishes: Improves skin hydration and deeply nourishes it, providing firmness and softness.
-Repairs and heals: Promotes wound healing and improves the appearance of scars, thanks to its regenerative capacity.
-Protection against external agents: Protects the skin against environmental damage, such as pollution and solar radiation, thanks to its antioxidant and dermoprotective properties.
-Helps with blood circulation and the reduction of inflammation.

Comodogenic index:
-Comedogenic level 0: it is non-comedogenic and does not cause pore clogging.
-Comedogenic level 1: there is a small (very low) possibility that the ingredient is comedogenic and may clog pores.
-Comedogenic level 2: in most cases, it will not clog pores. The possibility that it may clog pores is moderate to low.
-Comedogenic level 3: they have a medium chance of clogging pores, depending especially on the skin type.

Those figures describe a studied sample, not necessarily this Spanish CO₂ batch. Published fig-seed research confirms that alpha-linolenic and linoleic acids are often prominent but vary by genotype.

- Plan for lower oxidative stability because of the polyunsaturated profile.
