Botanical Name: Litchi Chinensis. 

Family Name: Sapindaceae.
Common Name: Lychee, Leechee, Lìzhī, Alupag, Matamata, 
INCI: Litchi Chinensis Seed Oil.
Extraction Method: CO2.
Parts Used: Seeds.
Odor: Beautiful woody nuances, soft, balsamic, creamy and a resinous undertone.
Appearance: Yellowish.
Country of Origin: Seeds: China and Extraction: United Estates. 

Comodogenic index: 1-2

Litchi is the only member of its genus and has three subgenera, all of which are native to Asia. Litchi Chinensis is currently grown in many parts of the world with tropical and subtropical climates.

Main constituents of fatty acids:

1) Oleic Acid: 42-60%
2) Linoleic Acid: 20-35%
3) Palmitic Acid: 6-15%
4) Alpha-Linolenic Acid: 5-15%
5) Stearic Acid: <3%

The phytochemical profile of lychee seed showed the presence of 5 main phenolic compounds:
-Epicatechin, (−)
-Gallocatechin, (−)
-Epicatechin-3-gallate,
-Gallic acid and
-Procyanidin B2,

Minor phenolic compounds:
-Protocatechuic acid,
-Protocatechuic aldehyde,
-5- O -coumaroyl methyl quinate and
-Daucosterol

Comodogenic index:

-Comedogenic level 0: it is non-comedogenic and does not cause pore clogging.
-Comedogenic level 1: there is a small (very low) possibility that the ingredient is comedogenic and may clog pores.
-Comedogenic level 2: in most cases, it will not clog pores. The possibility that it may clog pores is moderate to low.
-Comedogenic level 3: they have a medium chance of clogging pores, depending especially on the skin type.
-Comedogenic level 4: the chance of clogging pores, regardless of the skin type, is quite high.
-Comedogenic level 5: they tend, in almost all cases, to clog skin pores. In fact, very few people tolerate the oils found here.
