Boswellia Carterii Essential Oil, also known as Olibanum, is an oil obtained from the distillation of the resin of the Boswellia Carterii tree, which grows in dry and hot climates in East Africa and part of the Arabian Peninsula. Although all oils distilled from the resin of trees of the Boswellia family are called Frankincense, each type of Boswellia has a unique aroma in itself and different from the others, since the chemical composition is different in each species. .

Frankincense is considered the "holy anointing oil" in the Middle East and has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years.

Frankincense was valued more than gold in ancient times, possessed only by those with great wealth and abundance.

Frankincense is mentioned in one of the oldest known medical records, the Ebers Papyrus, dating back to the 16th century BC, an ancient Egyptian list of 877 recipes and prescriptions.

Properties of its aroma: Increases spiritual awareness, promotes meditation, improves attitude and elevates the spirit. Frankincense contains sesquiterpenes, which stimulates the brain's limbic system (the center of memory and emotions) and the hypothalamus, pineal gland, and pituitary gland.
