Green Vetiver is an absolute that every perfumer should have in their arsenal.

Green Vetiver, also known as Ruh Khus, the word Ruh means Spirit, and in the context of green Vetiver it refers to the fact that the aroma is so intense and tenacious, that the spirit itself was extracted from the Vetiver. It is an ancient technique, dominated by a few in the northern part of India, Nepal and neighboring areas. Vetiver is widely used in Asia to flavor drinks, make offerings, in healing tonics, in skin care and of course in perfumery. It is capable of imprinting a unique aroma, grounding, fixing and giving a background to a perfume like few oils can do.
The compounds contained in the vetiver root acquire a green color when they come into contact with copper. Either by closed-circuit hydrodistillation in the Clevenger style, what is obtained is an essential oil with a density greater than water or an absolute extraction by macerating the Vetiver roots with high-grade alcohol in a container that is half copper, half leather. camel, where it is left to mature for months and then strained, leaving an absolute of a beautiful intense green color and an extremely powerful and tenacious aroma. After straining, it is stored in camel skin containers where it can last for centuries, it never goes rancid or loses properties, like a good wine, it only improves with age.
