Italian Artisan-Distilled Blue Pine Hydrosol is a beautifully aromatic botanical water produced in small batches in Italy through the careful steam distillation of Pinus Wallichiana, commonly known as Himalayan Blue Pine or Blue Pine.

During distillation, steam passes gently through the aromatic pine material, capturing both water-soluble botanical constituents and a delicate trace of the naturally occurring volatile aromatic compounds found in the plant. The resulting hydrosol offers a softer and more aqueous expression of Blue Pine than the corresponding essential oil.

Its aroma is crisp, green and distinctly coniferous, opening with the impression of freshly crushed pine needles and cool forest air. Subtle woody, balsamic and resinous undertones create a clean yet sophisticated botanical profile reminiscent of mountain forests after rain.

Because hydrosols are substantially more dilute than essential oils, Blue Pine Hydrosol is especially versatile for facial and body mists, scalp products, botanical toners, after-shave formulations, room sprays, linen mists and water-based wellness formulations.

This material is particularly well suited to brands seeking an unusual conifer hydrosol with a distinctive European artisan provenance.

Composition & Formulation

A hydrosol is a water-based distillate and must not be handled like a wax or essential oil.

  • Remove the previous instruction about melting in a double boiler; it is not applicable.
  • Do not retain the previous three-year shelf-life claim without stability and microbiological data.
  • Confirm preservative status, pH, microbial specification and storage after opening.
  • Include it in the finished product’s preservation and challenge-testing strategy.

Applications

  • Facial and body mists after preservation review
  • Botanical toners and water-phase skincare
  • Scalp and hair mists
  • After-shave sprays
  • Room sprays and linen mists
  • Natural perfumery and aromatherapy-style sensory products

Formulation Direction

Use as an aqueous ingredient according to its microbial specification. Do not automatically replace water at 100% without stability and compatibility testing.

Safety & Handling

  • For external use only; do not ingest.
  • Avoid direct contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
  • Patch test the finished formulation.
  • Confirm microbial limits, preservative status, pH, shelf life and storage after opening.
  • Discard if odour, colour, clarity or container pressure changes unexpectedly.
  • Do not describe it as universally non-toxic or non-sensitising without evidence.
