Star Anise Essential Oil is distilled from the iconic star-shaped fruits of Illicium verum, a treasured spice in both culinary and medicinal traditions. With an aroma that is sweet, spicy, and licorice-like, it is often compared to traditional anise (Pimpinella anisum), but with a more warm and exotic profile.

The oil is composed primarily of trans-anethole (≈ 85–90%), which gives it its characteristic fragrance and functional properties. Its unique balance of sweetness and spiciness makes it highly valued in perfumery, aromatherapy, oral care, and topical cosmetic formulations.
