Properties:
-Wound healing: It has lactones with healing and anti-inflammatory properties, which reduces the production of prostaglandins and cytokines that act as inflammatory substances when the skin has been exposed to blows, wounds, scratches or cuts.
-Antihistamine action: Helps reduce inflammation of wounds because it inhibits fluid extravasation from blood vessels around and in the lesion.
-Pain in the joints: The helenalin present in its composition has an anti-inflammatory action that helps block the production of proteins responsible for chronic inflammation of the joints in people with osteoarthritis.
-Muscle distension: Helps to reduce pain and treat muscle distension, due to the lactones it contains.
-Postoperative pain: Arnica helps reduce inflammation in the tissues, bruises around the surgical cut have suffered rupture of blood vessels, which arnica, due to its healing and anticoagulant action, helps to repair.
- Varicose veins and hemorrhoids: Lactones and hexuronic acid help in the treatment of varicose veins and hemorrhoids. They help reduce inflammation of dilated veins under the skin, reducing pain and discomfort.
-Baldness: Mixed with Jaborandi helps to strengthen the hair follicle.
Other properties:
-Toothache and gingivitis.
- Boils.
Caution: May cause miscarriage, due to the plant's high content of phytoestrogens. This essential oil should not be consumed.
Possible uses: Arnica can be prepared in gel or ointment that can be applied to bruises, trauma, bruises, ecchymosis.
