Australian Rosewood, also known as Bastard Sandalwood, Buddha Wood, since it has an aroma, consistency and color similar to Mysore Sandalwood. It is a tree endemic to Australia, small in size, and both the wood, the leaves and the resin that contain essential oil. The essential oil from the wood is the oil that is reminiscent of Sandalwood, and shares the same fixing properties for perfumes.

Australian Rosewood or Buddha Wood as it is also known, is a true gem in aromatherapy, it contains a unique mixture of sesquiterpenes, which are rare to find and which provide the incredible properties of this oil.

Native Australians use the oil extracted from the wood of the Australian Rosewood for various medicinal and spiritual purposes.
